"The Perfect Cottage"
The cottage is excellent we have now stayed there twice; last year and this June. It’s right in the heart of Dartmoor, easy access to Tavistock, Ashburton, Bovey Tracey, Widecombe on the Moor , Moretonhampstead and Plymouth, plus many other beautiful places to visit.
Excellent walks on the moors from the cottage. Ideal for your dogs as well.
Ludgate also offer a menus for breakfast, Tea and Dinner. Delicious!
The owners and staff are so helpful and friendly. They really make you feel at home.

"Recent stay at Lydgate Cottage"
We absolutely loved staying at the cottage.. My partner Nigel, my border collie Misty and I took my 92 years young mother Patricia for her birthday on Friday the 19th April thus staying for the whole week. The situation of the cottage is ideal especially if you enjoy great scenery and lovely walks right on your doorstep. The weather was superb and consequently we were able to sit outside the cottage in the lovelky comfy chairs, On booking the cottage we arranged a full package which included all meals and regular housekeeping, everything was provided for, Kelly. Sarah and John kept checking on my mother whilst we were out for a walk. Unfortunately for me I developed acute appendicitis a couple of days before our wonderful holiday was about to end and I was admitted to hospital without being able to return. However I cannot thank Kelly. Sarah and John enough for taking care of my mother and my dog whilst I was with Nigel my partner being assessed at Derrifird hospitral until he could return to the cottage later that night, There are no words to express how kind and thoughtful Kelly, Sarah and John were but I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

"An absolutely fantastic Christmas Thank you"
I can’t praise them highly enough We had an absolutely fantastic stay in the cottage and came to the hotel for the Christmas experience. The level of service was exceptional. We enjoyed everything and if I could I would willingly give 6 stars. The food and ambiance were just perfect and nothing was too much trouble. Service and care as it was in days gone by absolutely perfect Thank You. We will definitely be back.

"Ideal self catering cottage with the hotel next door for a lovely meal"
Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed for our week stay, close to the Bellever forest and Tor which was beautiful and within a short drive to many attractions. As I was celebrating my 60th Birthday the cottage had been dressed with balloons and banners which made it very special, an ideal place to stay for 2 couples as we were

"A glorious holiday"
We stayed in the cottage which is very well equipped and our hosts were so helpful, I know if we needed something they would oblige. The setting is stunning with walks on your doorstep. Beautiful views and very comfortable cottage. We utilised the hotel a number of times for meals which were fab. Will definitely visit again

"Booked to return before leaving"
This was the first Dartmoor holiday ,after nearly 10 years, that we have come back to the same place .Needless to say we have already booked again for next year. The hosts saw to our every comfort and the cottage has all the mod cons of home. The peace and tranquility is wonderful after living in the city for 51 weeks of the year.
